MCP Dock Guides
Install MCP Dock
Choose the package for your operating system, then verify the app version and review the first server before connecting it to a client.
Choose an installation method
On macOS, Homebrew is the simplest repeatable installation path: brew install --cask OldJii/tap/mcp-dock. Release downloads are also available for Apple Silicon and Intel macOS, Windows installer and portable builds, and Linux AppImage or Debian packages.
Download only from the project’s GitHub releases or the official Homebrew tap. A desktop binary can read and write local configuration files, so do not use repackaged downloads from unrelated sites.
First launch checklist
- Confirm the displayed version and platform match the release you intended to install.
- Open the configured-client list before installing a server; this establishes which tools MCP Dock can write to.
- Inspect a server’s repository, command, environment-variable requirements, and transport before enabling it.
- Install to one client first, then open that client and verify the generated configuration before repeating the change elsewhere.
If macOS blocks the app
Unsigned builds may be blocked by macOS. Verify the download source first. If you decide to continue, follow the project’s documented Gatekeeper instructions rather than disabling system-wide protections.
