MCP Dock Guides

Data and privacy in MCP Dock

MCP Dock keeps its own configuration and application data locally. The servers and clients you choose may have their own data handling, network access, and authentication requirements.

Local application data

MCP Dock stores its configuration under ~/.mcp-dock/ on macOS and Linux, or %USERPROFILE%\\.mcp-dock\\ on Windows. Client-specific MCP configuration remains in each client’s own configuration file and must be reviewed or removed there when appropriate.

Network boundaries

An internet connection is needed to browse current public MCP and skill catalogs and to install packages or downloads. Installed local configuration can remain available offline, but an individual MCP server may independently connect to external services. Read that server’s documentation before providing a token or allowing network access.

Before sharing diagnostics

Configuration files and logs can contain filesystem paths, server arguments, account identifiers, and environment variable names. Redact values and any private project context before posting them publicly. For product-specific privacy questions, use the contact information in the site privacy policy.
